#126 to #130 around Melbourne, July 2018

I've managed to get out a few times with the camera these school holidays and get a few photos for this year list. A White-necked Heron and a Whistling Kite at the Western Treatment Plant, a Weebill from Brimbank Park, and a Western Gerygone and a White-browed Scrubwren from Royal Park.

#122 to #125 around western Melbourne, July 2 2018

This morning I went to look for robins at Woodland Historic Park. I found a few Scarlet Robins but no Flame, Rose or Red-Capped Robins. I did manage to get a reasonable-ish photo of a Grey Shrike-thrush, and I stumbled upon a small group of Varied Sittella as well.

I came home from Woodlands, had lunch, and headed out again, this time to Point Cook Coastal Park where I found a Flame Robin along the fence line.

And then after that a Little Wattlebird at the Laverton Creek Mouth in Altona.

It was nice to finally get out with the camera today after a lot of work commitments, family commitments, and frustrating bouts of illness!

#101 to #104 at Woodlands Historic Park, Victoria, Australia, April 28 2018

I've managed to visit Woodlands Historic Park at least once a week during most of Summer, but today was the first time I have been there in six weeks! Rain and a 10 day visit to Queensland, followed by my wife being overseas for work led to a fair whack of time off, and it has certainly changed a lot since the last visit! There's a lot more birds, but still not as many as I used to see when I first stared coming here about five years ago. And the insects have all but gone. Here's what I managed to photograph for the year list...

#102 - Brown-headed Honeyeater

#103 - Scarlet Robin

#104 - Tawny Frogmouth

I enjoyed doing this VERY casual year. I posted images of my 'best' shots for 2018 here: http://andrewallenphotography.blogspot.com/...
